Ogbaru Market leaders insist election was free, fair

Newly elected leadership of Ogbaru Relief Market in Ogbaru Local Government Area of Anambra State has said that election into various offices of the market union was free, fair and credible. Rising from a high profile meeting of the new executive, the Chairman of the market, Mr. Ndubuisi Ochiogu, faulted claims that traders in the market rejected the election outcome, saying it was a figment of the imagination of those that think that they can use blackmail to armtwist the government in doing their bidding. He said: “I can authoritatively tell you that there was an election in this market as against their insinuation that there was none in the market.

We made sure that we accommodated as many lines as possible, as never before in the history of this market has the number of lines accredited to vote has reached what we did under 14 days. “We call on government and its agencies to disregard the ranting of those who thought they will win election by intimidation as traders in the market have spoken.”
