Ogun: Police arrest 6 alleged land grabbers over death of landlord

Detectives attached to the Ogun State Police Command have launched investigation into the killing of a landlord, Monday Eredua, by suspected land grabbers at Ipetu Baba Ode village, Ogun State. It was learnt that six persons have been arrested in connection with the murder of the victim and several other residents are said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries during the attack. New Telegraph gathered that the deceased, a father of four was killed on November 17, at Ipetu Baba Ode Village in Ado-Odo Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, since the killing of the man the residents had been living in fear.

The land grabbers were said to have started shooting sporadically immediately they entered the community and everyone was running helter-skelter, it was in the process of escaping that gunshots from the land grabbers hit Eredua on his shoulder and he fell, but later he died at the hospital where he was rushed to. Before the arrest of the suspects involved in the murder, the family of the deceased had raised alarm over alleged attempt to transfer the case to Force Headquarters in order to frustrate the investigations and sweep the case under the carpet.
