Ohafia stands still for Kalu

The ancient city of Ohafia in Abia State was yesterday agog with jubilations at the sighting of a former Governor of Abia State, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu and his new branded APC buses.

This is even as the convoy of the former governor escaped being mobbed as residents trooped en mass to cheer him with shouts of change.

The former governor, who was returning from a wedding ceremony held in Ohafia had recently in his Facebook handle shared photos of All Progressive Congress branded buses. According to him, the buses were for support to the party, adding that more should be expected.

The melodrama started when some youth on hearing the announcement of Kalu’s arrival at the ceremony went forth to ambush him at the market square.

The former governor’s convoy was eventually blocked on his way home and the youth insisted that he alights from his motorcade to address them.

Despite heeding to their voices which continued to increase with different accolades, Kalu’s frantic effort to address them became futile as more residents trooped on dancing and singing with Kalu’s name. Kalu was eventually freed when his shout of the APC’s slogan filtered the air accompanied with that of the people.
