Ohanaeze youths to Buhari: Free Nnamdi Kanu, 19 others

The youth wing of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, yesterday called on President Muhammad Buhari to release the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu and other 19 Igbo youths illegally detained by security agencies in the country. The Igbo youths stated this in a statement by its spokesperson Chika Adiele.

 

T hey called on the President to rejig the country’s security architecture to ensure that it performs it duties of protecting the lives and properties of Nigerians to the optimum.

 

The group, however, urged South East governors to put every mechanisms in place to encourage Igbo youths, to fully take charge of the operational running of local security outfit, known as Ebube Agu.

 

Ohaneze lamented the “perennial failure of successive Nigeria leaders since the advent of democracy to arrest social economic drift, which unfortunately has placed the collective future of Nigeria youths on the slab
