Our commitment is to build total child – Proprietor

After 10 years of establishment of Masterpiece Nursery and Primary School, Akera, Ogun State, the owners of Masterpiece Group of Schools, amid fanfare have unveiled the secondary section of the school. Christened Masterpiece College, the Proprietor, Mr. Babatunde Atambala, however, described the event as a “milestone and a laudable achievement” in the life of the school.

According to the Proprietor, who recalled that when the nursery and primary section took-off over 10 years ago, the owners were neither thinking of a secondary school, nor made establishment of it a priority.

But, within three years, the parents, the Proprietor said, had begun to clamour for secondary school in view of the quality and standard of nursery and primary school education being provided which in all ramifications appealed to total development of the children.

“During our fifth anniversary, the pressure from parents became more intense, but we kept on with our good work until God made it a reality in our 10th year. We give God the praise,” Atambala said, saying while the planning was going on the priority was to put in place all necessary facilities that will enhance qualitative education delivery in a more conducive learning environment.

While unveiling the college last week, Atambala said: “Many parents and people in our host communities were asking us about the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) but we insisted on first building our peculiar products, and because of that we taking off only with the Junior Secondary School (JSS 1) as we are not profit driven.”

He said that the management had towards this end decided to provide and make all necessary facilities available for a conducive learning environment for the smooth take-off of the college.

The facilities already put in place for the take-off of the college include well-equipped science laboratories, computer/ ICT room, music room, and art room, a school clinic, library, 10 toilets, a large hall and playground for students.

While conducting parents, other guests and journalists on a facility tour of the college, Atambala said all the classes and vital areas are installed with CCTV cameras to ensure safety of students and monitor activities within and around the school.

“Our restrooms are incomparable, while the teachers are carefully recruited among many that applied. I assure you parents that you have made the right decision by choosing Masterpiece College for your children,” the Proprietor added.

The high points of the event were presentations and performances by the pupils in the primary school section such as ballet, taekwondo and musical instruments presentations to entertain the guests.

Meanwhile, the Board of Directors of the school, led by Mr. A. Olaoye, and executive of the Parent Teachers’ Association (PTA) lauded the Proprietor and management for doing a good job, and urged them to sustain the tempo of academic excellence and discipline tone of the school.
