Parents of abducted Edo pupils yet to contacted

The parents of the abducted pupils of Glory Land Group of Schools in Igarra, Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State are yet to be contacted by abductors of their children.

Mr Kola Momodu, father of the abducted two girls, disclosed this to newsmen in Auchi on Thursday.

Momodu, who expressed worry over the safety of his children, appealed for their safe release.

It would be recalled that the pupils were kidnapped last week Tuesday by gunmen at about 5:35 pm along Igarra-Auchi Road, near Ikpeshi, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State.

It was learnt the vehicle in which the pupils, who are sisters, were traveling with some students was intercepted at gun point with the abductors dragging the students from vehicle into the bush.

The spokesman of Police Command in Edo, SP Kontongs Bello, who confirmed the incident, said the police operatives, soldiers and vigilantes were already combing the bush in an effort to rescue the abducted kids.

“Two of the students were kidnapped but efforts are on to rescue them unhurt. Men of the Nigeria Police, Soldiers and vigilantes are already combing the bush to rescue the students,” he had stated.
