Pooja Media, Jordan FC, others for Bet9ja/Lagos SWAN Cup

It is going to be a beehive of activities from December 3 to 10 at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, as the sports writers, presenters and OAPs leave the newsroom and the studio for a time on the field of play in this year’s Bet9ja/Lagos SWAN Cup.

 

Pooja Media got to the last four in the last edition that which held in 2019 and this time around will be hoping to make it to the final stage with their CEO, Sulaiman Adebayo, already talking tough.

 

Pooja Media is drawn in Group A alongside Unilag Media, TVC and defending champion, VON and Adebayo already said they are not going to settle for less.

Debutant, Jordan FC will have their hand full in Group with the likes of Community Watch, Multimedia FC and NAN while Group C will see Complete Sports, Lasgidi FC, Radio Nigeria and Megalectrics competing for honour.

 

It is not all about football alone this year with members also competing in other indoor games like Table Tennis, Scrabble and Chess.

Niyi Oyeleke and Charles Ogundiya will fight it out in two events, scrabble and chess alongside others.

 

The Lagos State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (Lagos SWAN) Boss, Debo Oshundun, disclosed at a media parley held in Lagos on Thursday while unveiling leading sports betting brand, Bet9ja as its headline sponsor that the media week will start on December 3 with the veteran game.

 

“This competition is a symbolic event when sports writers, sports casters, bloggers and sports reporting business gather together to practice what they preach. This year’s event is symbolic and of great importance after the Covid-19 pandemic that ravaged the world in 2020,” Oshundun said.

 

“Nigerian Brewery, MultiChoice, La Liga and Lagos State Sports Commission all made a return as our proud partners alongside Redbull, Intercontinental Distillery, Owu, GTBank and Nestle who are all coming on board for the first time.

 

“La Liga Nigeria will supply all match day balls from the opening day till the final day as the Bet9ja/Lagos SWAN Cup official matchday ball partner.”
