Pupils in Nigeria, Diaspora to participate in Presidential Advocacy Essay competition

Over five million secondary school students in Nigeria, from JSS1 to SS3, and their counterparts in diaspora are expected to participate in the forthcoming Presidential Advocacy Essay organised by a non-governmental organisation, Citizen’s Intervention and Advocacy Network (CIAN).

While announcing the kickoff of the essay competition at a press briefing recently in Lagos, the Committee Director of Project, Mr. Samson Abraham Ayefu, said that the first phase is slated to start from November 1, through November 30. He noted that six pupils will emerge to go to Abuja, FCT, for a round of debate that will spotlight and activate national interest needed to stir state actors and the policy community for immediate Plan of Action. Three Presidential Advocates that will emerge as finalists, would be allowed to present their selected papers in February 2022 at the CIAN National Civic Project tagged, “Nigeria’s Next President” in Abuja.
