Sani Dangote, Dangote Vice President, Buried amidst Tears In Kano

The Vice Chairman of the  Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Sani Ibrahim Dangote, who is also the younger brother of Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, has been laid to rest in Kano.

The burial event took place at the palace of the Emir of Kano Wednesday morning and was led by the Imam of the palace Sheikh Sani Muhammad.

The Minister of Aviation, Alhaji Hadi Sirika, led the Federal Government’s delegation, while Senate President Ahmad Lawan led the National Assembly members.

Some others who attended the funeral included Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, Governor Abdullahi Ganduje and Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado-Bayero.

Others were Borno Governor, Babagana Zulum, Sen. Bukola Saraki, Director General, Department of State Services, Yusuf Magaji-Bichi,  Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Alhaji Abdussamad Isyaka-Rabiu and captains of industries from within outside the country, among others.

The deceased was buried at Sarari graveyard, where deceased members of Dantata family are buried.

Sheikh Tijjani Bala-Kalarawi, who led prayers after the burial, described the deceased as a humble, generous and nice gentleman during his lifetime.

He stressed the need for people to judge themselves based on their deeds everyday before going to bed, to enable them do more good deeds while alive.

Dangote died on Sunday, in a hospital at Miami in the United States of America following a protracted illness. The body of the late businessman was brought to Kano from the US Tuesday night.
