Sanwo-Olu urges film makers to access N1bn LACI fund, as Ebony Life Creative

The Lagos State government has disclosed that the Nigerian creative industry is becoming the live wire of the country’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) while charging prospective film making graduates to take advantage of the state’s N1billion creative industry fund to project Lagos State and Nigeria positively to the world.

The state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, made this known at the Ebony Life Creative Academy Graduation Ceremony Class of November 2021 in Lagos yesterday. Sanwo-Olu said that the state was ready to support upcoming youths that want to venture into film production with the N1 billion Lagos State Creative Industry (LACI) initiative fund. The governor, who was represented at the graduation ceremony of 372 graduates from the Ebony Life Creative Academy in Lagos by the Senior Special Adviser (SSA) to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Solomon Saanu Bonu, explained that LACI was established in a bid to take the state’s creative industry to the next level, particularly to project the state and Nigeria’s entrainment industry to the world to attract more foreign exchange earnings into the economy.

He, however, commended the management and staff of Ebony Life Creative for the wonderful job they are doing for greater Lagos through the Academy which was approved and certified by Lagos State and LACI. He further charged them: “I will employ all of you here the past graduates and those of you graduating today to take advantage of N1b LACI fund created by Mr. Governor to support this industry.
