Suspected cultists, drug baron arrested in Ekiti

The Ekiti State Police Command said it has arrested suspected cultists and drug barons.

 

The Commissioner for police in the State, (CP) Tunde Mobayo in a statement yesterday signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO),ASP Sunday Abutu explained that the command received “a credible tip off that a group of suspected cultists were sighted in Inspiration Hotel, Ikere-Ekiti.

 

“Upon the receipt of the information, the operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) swung into action and on getting to the hotel, one Adewumi Gboyega a.k.a Pasu, Temitope Oyeyemi a.k.a Thiago, Kazeem Ayomide a.k.a Satim, Adewumi Praise and Olayinka Emmanuel were found in one of the hotel rooms.

 

“Upon searching the room  the following items were found in their possession and recovered: Three (3) packs of suspected Arizona Hemp , Fifty(50) wraps of suspected cocaine, Fifteen( 15) packs of suspected loud hemp, Twenty(20) wraps of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp,

 

Ten (10) gas lighters, One(1) sharp knife, a cash sum of N76, 900 (Seventy six thousand, nine hundred). “During interrogation, the arrested suspects confessed to be illicit drug dealers.

 

“The Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Tunde Mobayo, while commending the members of the public for their cooperation and support in providing timely and useful information to the Police which has led to the arrest of the suspects and other criminal elements in the society, promises that the Command, under his watch, will not relent in its efforts to cripple the activities of criminals in the State.”
