SWAGA accuses Fayemi, Ekiti APC of plans to alter membership registers

The National Chairman, South-West Agenda for Tinubu 2023 presidential ambition, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, has alleged that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State is making frantic plans to tamper with the party registers ahead of the party’s primary election.

Adeyeye, a former minister of works, said the party leaders under the leadership of its Chairman, Hon. Paul Omotoso, had allegedly removed membership registers across the 177 wards and taken them to the Government House with the motive of deleting names of perceived opposition to their preferred aspirant before the January 22, 2022 primary election.

In a statement yesterday in Ado Ekiti, Adeyeye pointedly accused Governor Kayode Fayemi of being the one coercing the state leadership of the party to perpetrate the electoral deceit.

Adeyeye, who is vying for the 2022 governorship election, said the party took the unsavoury action over palpable fever surrounding the possibility of President Muhammadu Buhari signing the direct primary law to mandate the application of direct primaries by parties.
