Cultists invade Police station in Bayelsa

Suspected armed cultists have attacked the Divisional headquarter of the Nigerian Police Force in Oporoma, the headquarters of the Southern Ijaw Local Government area and set the station ablaze. A Fifteen years old Senior Secondary School Student, Master Emmanuel Apiakise, has been arrested with a locally made pistol during lecture hours along the Akenfa-Epie area of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital. Bayelsa State government at the weekend said it had established a family court to ensure accelerated hearing on cases of child rape, violence against women and children, child trafficking and kidnapping and child custody disputes. The court, which had resumed sitting, had appointed a High Court judge and magistrate.
