As part of measures to contain violent extremism and other trans-border crimes, Defence Ministers of the Sahel-Saharan States are scheduled to meet in Abuja today. Top on the agenda of the meeting is the threats to regional peace posed by activities of the Islamic State in Syria (ISIS) as well as Boko Haram. Curbing inter-security forces violent clashes

Last week, a soldier and three anti-riot policemen reportedly died during a shootout between members of the two security forces. Several others on both sides received gunshot wounds in the encounter that took place in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital. Fake JAMB registration centre discovered in Borno

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it had discovered a fake Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) centre in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.
