SA regulator fines MTN over WhatApp bundles price hike

South Africa telecom giant MTN has been fined 5m rand ($340,000) for not giving seven days notice before hiking the price of its WhatsApp bundles in 2018. The body that regulates the industry, Independent Communication Authority of South Africa (Icasa), said that at least $135,000 of the fine would be suspended for three years, news site EWN reports.
