The Nigerian Police Force is not taking anything for granted to ensure a hitch-free election in Ekiti State given the tension over the poll. The National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Mohammed Monguno (rtd), has begun an investigation into the recovery of about N15 billion by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). This is as President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), to submit a report on the recovery. Curbing inter-security forces violent clashes

Last week, a soldier and three anti-riot policemen reportedly died during a shootout between members of the two security forces. Several others on both sides received gunshot wounds in the encounter that took place in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
