A 29-year-old father of two, Akpojivi Joel Onoriode, described as kingpin of cybercrime, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFCC), Uyo Zonal Office, Calabar, Cross River State. Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of an Ikeja Special Offences Court, Lagos, has ordered an internet fraudster (aka yahoo yahoo boy), Abraham Sunday to pay the sum of N100,000 or risk spending one year in jail. Justice Mojisola Dada of an Ikeja Special Court has sentenced an undergraduate, Igbokwe Chuks Chijioke, to one year in prison for defrauding an American couple of the sum of $100,000. Chijioke was convicted after pleading guilty to a one count charge of being in possession of documents containing false information.
