Tunde Diya sets up Foundation to help the needy

 

Odogbolu town was a bee hive of activities on Tuesday July 7, 2020 at the magnificent OLADIPO DIYA LIBRARY & RESOURCE CENTRE, when the DR TUNDE DIYA FOUNDATION (DTDF) was inaugurated.


The epoch making event attracted the creme de la creme of the society. It drew the attention and presence of the traditional rulers, the intelligentsia, Community builders  and leaders of thoughts.

The brain behind this lofty idea is Babatunde Diya, a young medical doctor, who had decided to take the bull by the horn and make life better for the weak, needy, poor and physically challenged members of the society through the Dr Tunde Diya Foundation.

A thorough bred, the young Tunde’s father, His Excellency, Gen. Oladipo Diya GCON, MNI is a highly reputed Statesman and former Chief of General Staff and de facto Military Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, is the Asiwaju of Odogbolu.

The foundation has been placed to run under THE YELLOW INITIATE equally created a platform for celebration of culture, scholarship, intellectualism and humanity.

According to Dr Diya, “the Yellow Initiative is an idea borne out of the beauty and the purity of the colour “Yellow”. It simply expresses a vivid imagination that becomes a reality that guarantees social, cultural, intellectual and economic sucess. That is why we are driving this idea throgh it”.

The strategic plan of Dr. Tunde Diya Foundation is set to endows scholarship to less privileged; relieve poverty amongst vulnerable children; organise seminars, activities and stimulate forums that will empower young people to realise their potentials- by empowering the youth in vocational skills, entrepreneurship skills, agriculture and sport and entertainment.

Right from his medical school days, his vision has always been to effect real change that will be beneficial to the young, the weak, the needy and humanity at large- using the power of modern medicine practice and philantropy.
