Women storm NDDC, want Forensic Audit report published

More than 100 women from the various states in the South-South yesterday stormed the corporate headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Port Harcourt to call for the sack of the Interim Management Committee (IMC) for a new board, and the publication of the forensic audit of the commission. On September 2, the Minister of Nigeri Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, had presented the final report of the forensic audit of the NDDC to President through the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami. But since then the Federal Government has not released the expected white paper and act on the call for the dissolution of the IMC. The protesting women carried various placards to demand a change in NDDC, including messages that read: “Malami leave NDDC Alone”, ”We want a Board for NDDC”, “Sack illegal Interim Committee/Sole Administrator.”
