Zamfara NSCDC begins forensic, physiological test on personnel

The Zamfara State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), has embarked on a forensic and physiological test on the arm carrying officers and men with a view to checkmating their mental wellbeing for better discharge of their constitutional duties. Addressing the first batch of the officers and men selected for the flag off ceremony at state Command in Gusau, the Commandant, Mr A.A. Sparks, said the exercise was duly reintroduced by the office of the Commandant General in order to sanitise the service.

Mr Sparks, further said the main aim was to ensure that all the arm carrying officers and men of the Command who directly deal with civilians are mentally fit with a view to avoiding further accidental discharges, adding that, “Although the NSCDC has recorded the least in that aspect compared to other security agencies.”

The Commandant further explained that, the expectations after the exercise were to ensure that personnel serving under the Command were mentally and physically fit enough to guarantee the safety of themselves, their colleagues and the general public as they are always expected to respect rules of engagement guiding their operations.
